Unique Features
With over 100 miles of hard-surfaced recreational trails winding through woods, alongside our river, lakes and streams, through the metro area's downtowns and beside hotels, coffee shops and attractions, you'll want to come discover the Cedar Valley Recreational Trails!
Krieg's Crossing is the longest recreational trail bridge in the Midwest. Our trails are a series of loops, as opposed to many other lineal trail systems. With loops of varying distances, you can pick the distance you want and still end up back at your vehicle at the end of your ride.
The Cedar Valley Trails System is also home to the state's first water trail which encompasses and 10 mile loop using the Cedar River and Chain of Lakes. Another water trail utilizing Black Hawk Creek is under development.
A network of soft trails is also currently under construction. Watch here for details as they develop!
Trail usage is free and open year-round for non-motorized and non-equestrian activities such as bicycling, hiking, crosscountry skiing and skating. Call 800-845-1955 for a trail map and visitors guide
